The WRAIR program conducts the necessary studies from basic laboratory research to clinical trials in human volunteers. Within the specific mission is is the development of countermeasures against infectious diseases affecting deployed American troops. Sources of potential countermeasures come from either intramural or extramural programs.
Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Program Manager supporting the Department of Diarrheal Disease Research (DDR) Support Services at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. In support of the Surgeon General’s responsibility to conduct research and development for the production of countermeasures against Diarrheal Disease pathogens that have the goal of improving readiness, combat
effectiveness, and soldier health, the DDR was established in response to Military Infectious Disease Research Program (MIDRIP) and is in part carried out in the Bacterial Diseases Branch (BDB) at the WRAIR.
The BDB conducts the necessary studies from basic laboratory research to clinical trials in human volunteers. Within the BDB the specific mission is to develop countermeasures for Shigella and enterotoxigenic E. coli, both of which are significant causes of diarrheal disease in deployed American troops. As licensed countermeasures for shigellosis and enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC) are not available it is necessary to conduct basic and applied research to develop new countermeasures. Sources of potential countermeasures are either intramural programs or extramural programs.
** PRIMARY FUNCTION(S)
Our client is focused on the synthesis of dynamic and complex control and autonomous systems, from concept to realization, for a wide variety of prototypes. Work with multi-disciplinary teams to envision and create complex demonstration prototypes (primarily unmanned) and innovative solutions to challenging national security problems.

Research and development topics include one or more of the following: autonomous systems, guidance, navigation, non-linear or under-actuated control systems, estimation and feedback control algorithms such as PID controllers, Extended Kalman Filters, and Unscented Kalman Filters for dynamic pointing and tracking, inertial stabilization, embedded servo control systems, custom electronics development for advanced sensors, and mechanism and actuator control, artificial intelligence, including machine learning, Bayesian probability, modern feedback control and state estimation, computer vision, image processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and Markov decision processes.
** PRIMARY FUNCTION(S)
Our client develops a range of lasers, optoelectronic components, and electro-optic systems. Applications of these systems include directed energy, lidar, science, quantum information, communications, sensing, and other applications that can impact national security.
The group is seeking a computer aided design (CAD) layout specialist to assist in the design and layout of photonic integrated circuits (PICs) using a combination of custom manual layout and automated scripted layout techniques, and in the development and support of process design kits (PDKs) for an in-house photonics foundry. In addition to PIC design and layout, the layout specialist would also support design and layout of electronic integrated circuits, and electronic-photonic integrated subsystems.

This position provides Systems Engineering and Technical Advice (SETA) support to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Modeling and Simulation Operations (M&S OPS) directorate.
M&S OPS manages models and simulations that support the development, evaluation, and warfighter training of the Missile Defense System (MDS). M&S OPS is also developing a cloud based computing environment that will allow the federations of those models and simulations into an integrated digital MDS representation onto a single computing system. This position provides support to the government Contracting Officer Technical Representatives (COTRs) who manage the software applications and infrastructure life cycle processes for the directorate. This work will involve researching problems, developing solutions, and presenting these solutions on issues affecting M&S Operations.
