Position Summary

Odyssey has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Program Engineer supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center JASSM division (AFLCMC/EBJ) at Eglin AFB, FL. This role focuses on requirements development, technical analysis, system integration, engineering documentation, and program support for complex defense systems.

Responsibilities

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support engineering activities across all phases of DoD acquisition, including requirements, architecture, design, integration, test, and verification/validation.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation such as engineering plans, reports, briefings, and review artifacts.
  • Evaluate mission needs, user requirements, system concepts, and capability gaps.
  • Conduct trade studies, cost analyses, risk assessments, and modeling/simulation to support program decisions.
  • Review proposals, modifications, design data, drawings, and system performance results for technical accuracy and feasibility.
  • Support Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) using government-approved tools and methods.
  • Provide engineering support for system integration, upgrades, training systems, and simulator evaluations.
  • Participate in technical reviews such as CDRs, TRAs, TIMs, and readiness assessments.
  • Assist in source selection activities in an advisory capacity (non‑decision‑making).
  • Provide program engineering support for acquisition, development, testing, deployment, sustainment, and risk management.
  • Prepare technical presentations, reports, and recommendations for leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

 

Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen

Clearance: Current Top Secret clearance

 

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in related discipline from rom a college or university with an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited engineering program and 20 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science degree in related discipline and 15 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in related discipline and 5 years of relevant experience
  • Must have test and integration engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in weapons test and platform integration.
  • Prior support of weapon system acquisition programs or advanced test/evaluation environments.

Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

 

Technical Skills

  • Experience supporting DoD systems, acquisition programs, or weapon system engineering preferred.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles, requirements development, risk management, and verification/validation.
  • Familiarity with DoDI 5000.02 and Air Force acquisition processes is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical data and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences

Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to support complex, mission-critical programs
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Location: Eglin AFB, FL

Travel: May be required up to 10–20% depending on program needs
