Position Summary

Odyssey Systems is currently hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Corporate Headquarters in Wakefield, MA. In this role, you will support our Accounting and Finance team by managing employee travel expenses, subcontractor and consultant travel invoices, and vendor invoices, playing an important part in keeping our operations running smoothly. This position works closely with team members across the organization, including colleagues located in other regions, and contributes directly to the collaborative spirit that defines Odyssey.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to: 

  • Review and process employee travel and business expense reports in Emburse Expense System.
  • Communicate with employees for travel expense report support.
  • Review and process subcontractor and consultant travel invoices.
  • Prepare vendor invoices, review for proper account coding and approval.
  • Enter approved vendor vouchers into the accounting system.
  • Maintain Accounts Payable electronic files.

 

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.

Years of Experience: At least two (2) years of experience in an accounting or finance role.

 

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office skills, and experience with accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, analytical skills, and demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work, meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask within a fast-paced working environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a collaborative team environment.

Additional Information

Location: Wakefield, MA

Travel: None

Remote, Onsite, or Hybrid: Full-time onsite during onboarding, orientation, and training.  Hybrid upon completion of job-required training.

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as the Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
