Odyssey is recruiting for a Senior Communication, Navigation, Integration (CNI) Avionics Engineer to support the Attack Systems Division (WID), at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. WID is part of the ISR/SOF Directorate (AFLCMC/WI), who is responsible for equipping our warfighters to win the fight. The Directorate executes a $22 billion acquisition portfolio developing, producing, testing, modifying, fielding, and supporting Air Force ISR and SOF platforms, and related sub-systems.

Program description:

WID is AFPEO/WI’s centralized hub for Pre-LOR (Letter of Request) and Case Development for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) new business efforts. WID provides highly reliable cost-effective weapon systems for reconnaissance, close air support, and precision munitions employment. Duties include, but not limited to: 

• Provide specialized technical expertise for support of LAA avionic CNI systems which includes Controls and Displays, Communications, Navigation, Surveillance, Data Links, and Cabin Management Systems.
• Provide support for LAA avionics systems development, testing, integration, and certification efforts.
• Review applicable CNI OEM-delivered programmatic data (e.g., engineering drawings, performance specifications, hardware and software configuration documentation, interface control documents, and commercial item descriptions/specifications) to ensure that deliverables meet technical and programmatic requirements.
• Perform other CNI engineering activities to include CNI related Military and Commercial Standards Airworthiness Directives, evaluating CNI Architectures and Interfaces such as MIL-STD-1553, RS-232, assist with Interoperability of Communications Systems and Spectrum Management, Electromagnetic Environmental Effects airborne equipment standards, familiarization with MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464, and applicable certification efforts for TEMPEST, Spectrum, and HERO.
• Support with IFF selectable identification features/modes and AIMS certification efforts.
• Support with Heads-Up Display (HUD) Primary Flight Reference (PFR) certification efforts.
