Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity providing Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) as a Mission Delta 2 (MD 2) Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting the U.S. Space Force’s MD 2 Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Mission. This is a full-time position at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO that allows 1-2 days per week of telework at the discretion of the Government.
As an SDA Cybersecurity SME, you will provide cybersecurity leadership and management support for a combined contractor, military and civilian team across MD 2 and their multiple operational and sustainment squadrons including 62 CYS.
MD 2 leads SDA operations with current SDA programs of record, networks, and Command and Control (C2) data exploitation and dissemination systems and is responsible for integration of SDA sensor data, accredited Space Surveillance Network (SSN) or non-traditional sources, for USSPACECOM missions while sustaining existing various sensor systems including Eglin Radar, Space Fence, C-Band Radar, Australia, the Ground-Based Electro Optical Deep Space Surveillance (GEODSS) system, the Space Surveillance Telescope (SST) and the future Deep Advanced Radar Capability (DARC).
Work is performed at MD 2 HQs, Bldg. 845, Peterson SFB, Schriever SFB, and contractor locations in Colorado Springs, CO.
The Cybersecurity SME encompasses the full range of cybersecurity and information security processes, procedures, and functions, to include reviewing data, maintaining/implementing and compliance notification of required IAVAs, NOTAMs and cybersecurity posture for systems. Support includes advising MD 2 leadership on architecture mitigations to limit risk posture within the systems, and represent the risk posture in briefings and slides that are presented to the higher headquarters; utilize National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800 series special publications in the development of new system artifacts to ensure compliance with RMF and emergent Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) requirements and to interpret requirements as necessary to ensure system compliance or provide operational justification for exceptions when deemed necessary.
Odyssey Systems provides A&AS support to the Government in five areas: Product Support, Sustainment Engineering & Sustainment Management, Technical Order Management, Technical User Interface, and System Design, Engineering, and Integration. These tasks are executed laterally with Combat Forces Command (CFC), Space Systems Command (SSC), development contractors, and SDA stakeholders.
An A&AS contractor is a knowledgeable and trusted advisor to the Government. As an SDA Cybersecurity SME, you will provide cybersecurity leadership and management support for a combined contractor, military and civilian team across MD 2 and their multiple operational and sustainment squadrons including 62 CYS.
In concert with the Government ISSM, you will develop and implement clearly defined and consistent cyber security process across the Mission Delta. In addition, the MD 2-level cybersecurity SME is required to advise and provide recommendations to the Government ISSM, as well as implement direction and guidance of the government ISSM. Support will also include, but is not limited to, full integration of cyber security into all phases of acquisition, upgrade, and modification programs, including design, development, testing, fielding, operation, sustainment, DoD Cybersecurity Authorization Processes, and to provide oversight with the Directorate RMF compliance.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Clearance: Must hold an active Secret clearance and be eligible for Top Secret/SCI
Certifications: DoD IAM Level I (CAP, CND, Cloud+, GSLC, Security+ CE,)
Education: High School
Years of Experience: Minimum of 8 years of directly related experience, to include 5 years of DoD experience relevant to COMSEC; OR, Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 5 or more years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, to include 3 years of DoD experience
Preferred Qualifications
Clearance: Top Secret/SCI
Certifications: DoD IAM Level II/III (CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISO)
Education: AAS, or BS
Years of Experience: 10 or more years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, to include 7 years of DoD experience
Additional Experience: Systems knowledge of and experience working with SDA Command and Control, Ground Based Radar and Optical Systems
