Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Human Resources Support Specialist supporting the Space Systems Command (SSC) System Delta 85 (SYD 85) in the United States Space Force which consists of ground-based radars and command and control systems. The System Delta delivers integrated Space Domain Awareness (SDA), missile warning and tracking, Command, Control, and Communication (C3), Battle Management, and Space Intelligence capabilities for the USSF and joint warfighters. The Human Resources Specialist will provide support and assistance in the management and operations of program related HR and Talent Acquisition tasks.

This position is located at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado with hybrid flexibility (subject to change per the customer's discretion).

 

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to: 

  • Serve as the primary HR liaison and advisor to senior government hiring managers (both military and civilian) for all civilian manpower needs.
  • Manage the end-to-end hiring process for dozens of vacancies, including developing recruitment strategies, building hiring packages, and tracking progress through external agencies like DET 5, ETMO, and the CPO.
  • Create, review, and route critical personnel documents, ensuring compliance with the SSC Acq. Demo Business Rules and other governing policies. This includes Pay Setting Worksheets, Intent to Hire memos, selection justifications, and security waivers.
  • Proactively engage with all stakeholders to identify and resolve roadblocks, provide clear status updates, and manage expectations for both hiring managers and candidates.
  • Track and report on all vacancy statuses, consolidating data from multiple sources to create clear, concise, and accurate weekly and monthly status briefings for senior leadership.
  • Provide strategic advisement on talent management issues, such as position classifications, incentive offers (relocation, recruitment), and the proper use of Direct Hire Authorities (DHA).
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, templates, and continuity products to improve the efficiency and transparency of the hiring process for the entire organization.

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

ClearanceAbility to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret

Education: High School Diploma

Years of Experience: 4-7 years of experience

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

Clearance: Active secret (or higher) security clearance

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Years of experience: 7-10 years of experience, 4 years in DoD/DoW

 

 

Technical Skills

  • High proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with systems such as DCPDS or other official HR information systems.
  • Experience working within Space Systems Command (SSC) or a similar space-focused organization.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.

 

Interpersonal Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to brief and advise senior-level customers.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and proactively solve problems in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Conflict resolution skills.

  • Empathy and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.

  • Strong sense of confidentiality and ethics.

Location: Peterson Space Force Base, CO

Travel: Rarely

On-site, Remote or Hybrid: Hybrid- Approx. 2-3 days per week (subject to change per the customer's discretion)
