Odyssey Systems is seeking a highly experienced Product Support Software SME to provide senior-level software engineering and product support expertise to DoD programs located at Lackland AFB. This role involves reviewing, preparing, and analyzing documentation, planning, requirements, design, support, and testing activities within a secure DevSecOps environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in software engineering, product support, and defense acquisition processes.
In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and/or professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.
Perform work applying broad theoretical and practical knowledge of software engineering and product support
Review, prepare, and analyze documentation, planning, requirements, design, support, and testing artifacts including source code and configuration files
Provide engineering resolution support
Lead innovation and evolution of Cyber Operations products using a data-based decision and prioritization protocol within an agile and secure cloud-based DevSecOps environment
Ensure sustainment capabilities evolve at a pace matching supported solutions
Responsibilities may also include but are not limited to:
Experience with and cognizant knowledge of strategies employing Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and Hardware-as-a-Service
Experience coaching cross-functionally diverse teams to sense, characterize, and solve digital disrupters in commercial and threat environments
Experience ensuring a mission-focused balance between innovation and evolution of capabilities
Experience maintaining flexibility to accommodate shifting threats and mission profiles while aligning product development priorities
Experience defining and cross-checking data sources to validate scope and urgency of product capabilities
Experience ensuring organizational resiliency through proactive and collaborative processes and maintaining relevant documentation
Experience operating in a modern hybrid digital work environment
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret Level Clearance
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, or related degree or related experience
Years of Experience: 5-10 years of experience
Technical Skills
Knowledge of the acquisition lifecycle and product support planning during each phase
Extensive experience with defense acquisition management processes in accordance with DoDI 5000.87, “Operation of the Software Acquisition Pathway”
Knowledge of the DoD Twelve (12) Integrated Product Support elements structure
Familiarity with Product Support Business Case Analysis (PS-BCA) and Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP)
Familiarity with tailored Software Life Cycle Support processes
Ability to develop, modify, and/or interpret performance standards applicable within short product planning lifecycles
Interpersonal Skills
Experience coaching cross-functionally diverse teams
Proactive and collaborative mindset
Ability to maintain flexibility in dynamic environments
