Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Network & Computer Systems Manager (Journeyman) supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Armament Directorate Rapid Enterprise Solutions division (AFLCMC/EBR). 

 

This is a full-time, onsite position at Eglin Air Force Base, FL.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Administer and maintain classified and unclassified network systems, ensuring security, stability, and compliance.
  • Perform system and network patch management, staying ahead of vulnerabilities with disciplined update cycles.
  • Execute chronicle security controls and maintain continuous compliance across all environments.
  • Document processes, procedures, and configurations for systems, networks, and operational workflows.
  • Perform network and server development, deployment, optimization, and administration.
  • Engineer and develop IT solutions, from concept to implementation.
  • Draft network architecture diagrams to support planning, audits, and modernization.
  • Support system administration across LAN, WAN, web systems, and communication networks with an emphasis on security posture.
  • Assist with COMSEC activities and maintain security best practices.
  • Perform CryptoNet Management responsibilities.
  • Manage access controls, permissions, and identity workflows across multi‑level systems.
  • Apply operating system and software updates aligned with DoD cybersecurity and RMF/STIG requirements.
  • Manage cloud‑based administration in secure environments.
  • Support Government Reference Architecture (GRA) activities and Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) collaboration efforts.
  • Administer log‑on scripts, automation workflows, and update processes.
  • Test hardware and software components for compatibility, reliability, and performance.
  • Perform software license management, ensuring compliance, tracking, and cost efficiency.
  • Assist with equipment accountability and configuration documentation.
  • Configure and support switches, firewalls, routing, and protective boundary devices.
  • Perform database administration and management, ensuring data integrity and optimized performance.

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

 

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a current Top Secret clearance 
  • Bachelor's degree and 7 years of relevant experience; OR Bachelors degree and 5 years of relevant experience AND Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level III IAW DoD 8570/8140 (.e.g. CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, and SSCP); OR 
  • Master's degree and 5 years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience AND Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level III IAW DoD 8570/8140 (.e.g. CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, and SSCP)

Technical Skills

  • Strong background in secure system and network administration in DoD or similar environments.
  • Experience with patching, hardening, STIG/RMF compliance, and security control implementation.
  • Proficiency in cloud services, virtualization, Active Directory, scripting, and network troubleshooting.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Exceptional documentation discipline and customer‑focused communication skills.
  • Experience leading or mentoring junior technical staff
  • Ability to operate independently on mission-critical efforts

Travel: May be required at the customer’s discretion
