Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Computer Scientist supporting the AFLCMC/EBU AMRAAM Development Program at Eglin Air Force Base, FL. The selected candidate will provide advanced analytical, scientific, and technical expertise in support of modeling, simulation, algorithm development, and complex software systems used in weapons system development and acquisition.
This role requires deep experience in applying mathematical, statistical, and engineering principles to the development, testing, analysis, and evaluation of advanced software and computational models supporting mission-critical systems.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Provide analytical, scientific, and technical support to government leadership, scientists, engineers, and program teams supporting AMRAAM development activities
Develop, analyze, and evaluate algorithms, models, and simulations to support system design, testing, and performance assessment
Apply advanced mathematical, statistical, and operations research techniques to solve complex engineering and software problems
Support modeling and simulation activities across the system lifecycle, including development, integration, test, and evaluation
Develop and maintain computer software programs, including common instructions, routines, and subroutines used across multiple systems
Conduct feasibility analyses of advanced software and hardware approaches, including evaluation of emerging technologies and their impact on existing systems and networks
Initiate, formulate, and execute plans and projects involving specialized performance analysis and original technical evaluation
Provide technical input to acquisition documentation, technical reviews, and program decision-making forums
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams supporting software, IT, and communications systems within the AMRAAM program
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Secret Clearance
Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) in an ABET-accredited computer science program
Years of Experience: 15 years Relevant Experience
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Master of Science (MS) in an ABET-accredited computer science program + 10 years Relevant Experience, OR
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in an ABET-accredited computer science program + 5 years Relevant Experience
