Position Summary

Odyssey Systems is recruiting to fill a Test Engineer, Senior position supporting the Technical Integration Support Collaborative (TISC) at Hurlburt Field, FL. The TISC is part of the ISR/SOF Directorate (AFLCMC/WI), which is responsible for equipping our warfighters to win the fight.  The Directorate executes a $22 billion acquisition portfolio developing, producing, testing, modifying, fielding, and supporting Air Force ISR and SOF platforms, and related sub-systems.

 

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to: 

  • Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills, with emphasis on technical writing (e.g., proposals, risk recommendations, system evaluations/comparisons).
  • Apply Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Air Force (USAF) principles, criteria, and procedures to all Special Warfare acquisition engineering tasks.
  • Provide advice and assistance for Special Warfare test and evaluation activities, including:
  • Compiling and reviewing test reports from other government organizations.
  • Conducting market research and assessing current technology.
  • Developing requirements, test objectives, and measures of performance.
  • Creating detailed test procedures.
  • Assessing collected data and performing analysis.
  • Drafting test reports and preparing outbriefs.
  • Support processes required to obtain Air Force Systems Interoperability Testing (AFSIT) and Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certification.
  • Support Digital Engineering and Digital Materiel Management efforts, including use of Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Cameo software.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Education: 

  • Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD AND an ABET accredited Bachelor’s Degree in engineering. 
  • OR an ABET accredited Bachelor’s Degree in engineering and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD.

 

Technical Skills

  • Ability to design and execute test plans, develop test objectives, measures of performance (MoPs/MoEs), and detailed test procedures.
  • Proficiency in analyzing collected test data, identifying trends, and drafting comprehensive test reports and outbriefs.
  • Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and modeling tools such as Cameo for requirements traceability and system architecture modeling.
  • Knowledge of processes and documentation required for AFSIT and JITC certifications, including artifact development and compliance verification.

 

Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, program managers, and government stakeholders.
  • Skilled in conveying complex technical concepts in a way that is understandable to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and resourcefulness in resolving issues during testing and evaluation activities.
  • Builds strong relationships and maintains trust through proactive updates, professional briefings, and responsive support.
