Odyssey Systems is recruiting for a Cybersecurity Analyst to support the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Ports, Protocols, and Services (PPS) office within the USAF Air Combat Command's Cyberspace Capabilities Center (CCC) at Scott AFB, IL. This role provides critical subject matter expertise on PPS compliance, cybersecurity policy implementation, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes to ensure secure and compliant operation of systems across DoD networks.
In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.
Duties to Include but not limited to:
Provide guidance for all IT and Cybersecurity personnel across the Department of the Air Force on PPS policy implementation for IP protocols, applications, systems, and data services traversing DoD Information Networks (DoDIN).
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on the use of PPS within software applications, information systems, hosting environments, DoD enclaves, and cloud service offerings, including traffic traversing or tunneling through the DoDIN.
Support and resolve requests for information or technical assistance from DAF Cybersecurity offices and program management offices.
Interpret DoD and DAF PPS policies and provide authoritative guidance to Cybersecurity personnel.
Assist Government leadership and the Secretary of the Air Force CIO staff in developing, updating, and revising PPS policies.
Review PPS vulnerability assessments, exceptions, waivers, and deviations, including non-compliant PPS.
Represent the DAF in Technical Advisory Groups (TAGs) and Configuration Control Boards (CCBs).
Review and assess PPS artifacts in support of DoD RMF processes.
Register and maintain PPS entries for enterprise systems in the DoD PPSM central registry.
Track and sustain DAF systems of record within the PPSM registry, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Process change requests for boundary protection devices (firewalls) using Enterprise IT Service Management tools.
Process DoD DMZ Whitelist and Internet Access Point requests in accordance with 16th AF and JFHQ-DoDIN guidance.
Coordinate with DoD Cybersecurity Service Providers (CSSPs), DISA, JFHQ-DoDIN, security teams, and firewall technicians to ensure standards compliance.
Provide training to Government personnel on cybersecurity and PPS implementation requirements.
Maintain content within collaborative environments, update modules/layouts, manage user permissions, and ensure Section 508 accessibility compliance.
Provide accurate technical, analytical guidance and products in support of mission needs.
Follow proper procedures for handling, storage, transmission, and destruction of classified materials.
Respond promptly to time-sensitive requirements and deliver high-quality products in accordance with the PWS.
Support meetings, briefings, and webinars; prepare and edit presentations, papers, and reports as required.
Maintain DoD 8570 IAM I certification at all times.
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Secret Security Clearance
Education: Associates of Science/Arts in Information System/Computer related discipline or equivalent military experience (four years)
Years of Experience: Four years’ experience in DoD/National information, systems and technology and one years’ experience practicing process improvement
Certifications: Current DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level I certification in good standing
Technical Skills
Proficient in document review and editing using AF, DoD, and Federal style guides.
Strong research capability supporting cybersecurity policy development and interpretation.
Familiarity with NSA, CNSS, DISA, NIST, CJCS, DoD, and USAF cybersecurity standards and policies.
Experience briefing senior leadership and working collaboratively with management and technical teams.
