Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Configuration Manager responsible for ensuring compliance with all laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines related to Configuration and Data Management (CDM) for assigned weapon systems. This role requires hands-on experience supporting Configuration Management activities within environments where system integration, testing, or evaluation occurs.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure assigned weapon systems and products meet all relevant CDM laws, regulations, and policies.

  • Data Management: Oversee functional, allocated, and product technical baselines across assigned products and programs.

  • Deficiency Reporting & OSS&E Support: Provide support for Deficiency Reporting (DR), Engineering Data Management (DM), and OSS&E processes.

  • Systems Engineering Documentation: Maintain accurate and approved configuration records detailing system or product characteristics.

  • Configuration Management Activities: Execute planning, identification, status accounting, verification, audits, and change control in accordance with policy.

  • Laboratory Configuration Support: Track real-time configuration changes in integration/test environments; support PCAs/FCAs.

  • Process Improvement & Policy Development: Develop/update CMPs, IMPs, DSPs, and Data Rights strategies. Identify CM/DM requirements for acquisition documentation (SOWs, Acquisition Strategy Plans, etc.).

  • Configuration Verification & Audits: Conduct verification reviews, functional and physical audits, and ensure compliance with technical documentation.

  • CCB Management: Administer the Configuration Control Board (CCB), maintaining agendas, minutes, directives, and charters.

  • Software & Technical Data Management: Manage records of software releases, qualification data, fabrication, and acceptance requirements.

  • Policy Development & Standardization: Standardize CM practices, tools, and procedures across the organization.

  • Deficiency Reporting & MIPRB Support: Track/manage DRs, support Material Improvement Project Review Boards, and ensure compliance with TO 00-35D-54.

  • Risk & Requirements Management: Provide and manage CM, DM, QA, risk, and OSS&E data to meet SEAM best practices.

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in DoD acquisition. Or,

    • 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications

Certifications: 

  • CM Certification in any of the categories below
    • National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) CDM Certification, or
    • Configuration Management Principles and Implementation Certification (CMPIC), or
    • The completion of DAU Certification CLCL 010 Technical Data Management Credential.

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on CM/DM support in laboratory environments where prototypes, subsystems, or full systems are integrated and tested.

  • Experience identifying CM/DM requirements, validating deliverables, and ensuring compliance for DoD weapon systems.

  • Familiarity with EIA-649-1 CM, DoDI 5000.88, MIL-HDBK-61, AF Data Rights Guidebook, AFMCI63-1201, DoD SE Guidebook, DoD 5010.12-M, MIL-STD-31000B, MIL-STD-963, DoDI 5230.24, and AFLCMC Contract DM Standard Process.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Strong written and oral communication abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
