Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (AFLCMC/HNC) at Lackland AFB, TX.
AFLCMC/HNC provides life cycle management for information assurance and critical systems, ensuring warfighter access to secure information systems while denying adversaries access to the same. This role will focus on software development, automation, and analytics in support of mission-critical Air Force and DoD systems.
In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Software Development & Implementation
Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and analyzing system workflows.
Design, develop, test, and implement applications following the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Plan and implement Agile acquisition and DevOps processes for both Cloud and on-premise applications.
Automation & Data Analytics
Design and implement solutions using Microsoft Power Platforms including PowerApps, Power Automate flows (with JSON embedded actions), PowerShell scripting, and SharePoint lists.
Build and optimize workflows for automation, reporting, and data collection.
Develop and present analytics using Power BI for real-time data visualization and decision support.
System Analysis & Improvement
Conduct feasibility studies, systems analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
Evaluate operational efficiency and recommend enhancements in system design, architecture, and functionality.
Documentation & Compliance
Prepare and maintain software documentation, requirements, technical diagrams, and engineering change packages.
Support testing, validation, verification (V&V), and configuration management activities.
Vendor & Acquisition Support
Collaborate with vendors for software licensing, testing, and approvals.
Support Air Force acquisition programs through requirements development, code reviews, and engineering assessments.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain an active Top Secret clearance
Education & Experience: BA/BS and 15 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in the DoD, OR
Certifications:
PL-500 (Power Automate RPA Developer) – Required
Security+ – Required
Clearance: Top Secret with SCI eligibility
Education: MA/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline
Certifications:
PL-600 (Power Platform Solution Architect) – Highly desired
Microsoft Power Platforms (PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI)
PowerShell scripting and automation
JSON scripting and embedded actions
SharePoint list management and data workflow automation
Agile/Scrum and DevOps practices for software development
System architecture, software design, testing, and validation
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities
Comfort in dynamic, fast-paced DoD environments
