Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Systems Engineer to support a high-priority acquisition mission within the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (AFLCMC/HNC) at Lackland AFB.
The AFLCMC/HNC division is responsible for the acquisition, modernization, sustainment, and demilitarization of Air Force cryptologic, cyberspace, and intelligence systems, ensuring warfighters have uninterrupted access to secure information systems while denying adversaries the same.
In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Systems Engineering & Integration:
Plan, design, analyze, and evaluate mechanical, electrical, and software systems supporting DoD programs.
Develop requirements, interface specifications, and system architectures for complex systems and subsystems.
Integrate hardware and software components into cohesive, mission-ready solutions.
Mechanical Design & Analysis:
Conduct mechanical design reviews, 3D scanning, modeling, and analysis using modern engineering tools.
Evaluate vendor capabilities and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
Project Planning & Technical Management:
Support the development of project plans, schedules, and risk assessments.
Participate in milestone planning, technical reviews, and test readiness activities.
Prepare and present technical reports, engineering analyses, and system documentation to stakeholders.
Requirements Development & Verification:
Support the development and traceability of system requirements through design, integration, testing, and acceptance phases.
Perform requirements decomposition and allocation across system components.
Hardware/Software Integration & Testing:
Conduct system verification, validation, and performance analysis.
Support system installation, configuration, and functional testing activities.
Technical Data Management & Reporting:
Maintain system design documentation, interface control documents, and configuration management artifacts.
Prepare technical briefings, test reports, and engineering assessments for leadership decision-making.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret clearance
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Experience: 5+ years of relevant DoD systems engineering experience, including system design, integration, and test activities
Certifications: None required but highly desired
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Master’s Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
Experience: 10+ years of DoD or Air Force systems engineering experience with emphasis on complex acquisition programs
Certifications: INCOSE CSEP, PMP, or DAWIA certifications preferred
Mechanical design tools (e.g., CAD, SolidWorks)
Systems engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, Cameo, MATLAB/Simulink)
3D scanning/printing technologies
Requirements management and test verification systems
Configuration/data management tools
Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Strong communication and briefing skills
Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, acquisition, and operational teams
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-priority acquisition environments

Travel: May be required as directed by the customer
