Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Window Systems Administrator supporting the Air National Guard (ANG) Remote Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Special Operations Center (SOC). This position is located in Springfield, Ohio.

 

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to: 

 

  • Interfacing with fellow contractors and military/government clients, helping to shape their IT, networking, communication, and infrastructure. Provide direct, hands-on network engineering expertise to help design, install, and maintain RPA SOC network architectures. Troubleshoot and resolve highly technical core service outages and other complex IT system issues. Test and evaluate network systems to eliminate problems and improve client core enterprise services in support of Army users. Work effectively with stakeholders, including site leads and program managers, end users, and technical staff to develop, test, implement, and sustain critical IT infrastructure security architectures and networked systems. Work in a team-oriented environment that combines technical network engineering talent with business consulting expertise to deliver high quality IT solutions.
  • The candidate will support, when requested and coordinated with on-site COTR and maintenance personnel, the SA support tasks such as mission data backup and restore, database maintenance, user account creation and maintenance (with government oversight), data archiving, performance of data integrity checks, communication-port configuration, security incident reporting, and field-level TCTO instruction compliance (to include software baseline upgrade support).
  • The candidate must be familiar with patch management software (e.g. WSUS, SCCM, etc.). Design, develop, and recommend integrated security system solutions that will ensure proprietary and confidential data and systems are protected. Provide technical engineering services for the support of integrated security systems and solutions. Interface with the client in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs. Configure and validate secure complex systems and test security products and systems to detect security weakness.
  • Candidate shall perform system administration of RPA-SOC databases and software. The contractor shall analyze, troubleshoot and maintain RPA-SOC computer and network systems including troubleshooting LAN/WAN communications, firewalls, operations support for Microsoft Windows operating systems, and networks at classification levels of Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI), Secret and Unclassified not supported by the local base communications.
  • The candidate will support the design and installation of technology refreshes as well as installation and configuration of new RPA-SOC sites, as required. Key duties would include but not be limited to the following: Adhere to all Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Cyber Security, Tempest, Network Communications, and security guidelines and installation procedures. Perform infrastructure, hardware, and initial software configurations in accordance to installation procedures provided by customer. Provide system administration support of servers, desktops, switches, routers, firewall switches, and software applications. Assist in troubleshooting hardware and software during installations and provide documentation of actions taken to the customer. The contractor shall also support Site Acceptance Testing and provide documentation of installation and acceptance processes. Provide completion report to customer during Tech Refresh modifications documenting any changes, issues or concerns during installation.
  • Contractor employees shall be capable of demonstrating, with advanced knowledge, how critical Full Motion Video (FMV) systems (encoders and hardware) generate and deliver data through  existing IP based transfer, Multi-service Provider Platform (MSPP), Router, and other Optical Carrier (OC) based networks. In order to achieve the needed level of expertise, the Government  anticipates personnel having five years’ experience or more administering infrastructure support  to mainframe and or client server systems and/or DoD systems.

 

 

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and will need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI is required.

Certifications: Security+ CE Certification or similar DOD 8570 IAT II certification

Other desired certifications include: Microsoft Fundamentals Certification, CCNA, VMWare VCTA

  • +/- 5 years of experience with enterprise software systems to include design, testing, development, and integration
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for designing, implementing, and maintaining software service availability throughout the system life cycle
  • Ensure software applications comply with applicable security technical implementation guides (STIGs)
  • Experienced in Windows PC and Server administration
  • Experienced at managing user accounts, permissions, and access
  • Experienced in imaging
  • Knowledgeable in backup and recovery for systems, databases, and virtual servers
  • Experienced in managing database servers and processes
  • Identify technical applicability, remediate, and support mitigation of IAVA notices and support metric reporting
  • Experienced in VMWare virtualized environment
  • Research, interpret, and provide technical policy guidance pertinent to information and system security
  • Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance
  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs
  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures
  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices

This position has rotating shifts every 90 days.

 

Technical Skills

  • Active Directory (AD) Management – User/group administration, OU structuring, and Group Policy configuration
  • Windows Server Administration – Installation, configuration, and management of Windows Server roles and features
  • PowerShell Scripting – Automation of administrative tasks and system management through scripting
  • Networking Fundamentals – Understanding and troubleshooting TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls
  • System Monitoring and Security – Using monitoring tools, applying patches, and enforcing security best practices
