Position Summary

Odyssey Systems is currently hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to support the United States Air Force (AFLCMC) and United States Space Force through our Special Access Program (SAP). The US Air Force requires full-spectrum Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) support working with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Special Programs Division - Kill Chain Integration Branch (HNJJ). HNJJ’s mission is to weaponized current next generation sensor data using flexible communications structures and open architectures to provide real-time Global ISR to US/Allied Forces for rapid target execution. The goal is to buy back decision time by rapidly development, prototyping, integrating, testing, and fielding next-generation kill web acceleration enabling technologies. Our specialized A&AS support will assist with the development, integration, test, fielding, and sustainment of AFLCMC SAP weapon systems, networks and services. 

Responsibilities

In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and/or professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.

 

Duties include, but not limited to: 

  • Conduct reviews on program portfolio to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications.
  • Perform program reviews to evaluate alternative proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design, and test results to assure that subsystem and system performance is achieved in accordance with program specifications.
  • Prepare technical documents which define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics. Prepare management reports and conduct technical presentations for planning, implementation, and corrective action using application of engineering economy principles.
  • Perform validation of systems, including development of criteria and procedures. Analyze and/or evaluate results of major engineering systems.
  • Provide system/program engineering, technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives, including but not limited to acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight.
  • Provide engineering support services and inputs to program and project risk management activities in compliance with Air Force Systems Engineering Assessment Model (SEAM) processes.
  • Capable of performing problem/gap definition, trade space analysis, science and technology roadmap analysis, “Set based design” for concept development, Multi Objective Decision Analysis and cost versus capability trade off analysis.
  • Capable of implementing Digital Engineering, Digital Thread, and Digital Twin techniques across system lifecycle

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Must have an Active Top Secret Clearance

Education: BA/BS and 15 years of experience in systems engineering (minimum 5 years in DoD), OR

  • 20 years of directly related experience with proper certifications (minimum 8 years in DoD)

Preferred Qualifications

Clearance: Top Secret/SCI

Education: Advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field
Years of experience: 15+ years in a DoD environment

 

Technical Skills

  • Deep understanding of system development lifecycle (SDLC) and Air Force acquisition policies (DoDI 5000.02, AF SEAM)

  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Digital Thread, and Digital Twin methodologies

  • Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Cameo)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering modeling tools

  • Experience with cyber systems and secure systems engineering a strong plus

Interpersonal Skills

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders

  • Proven track record of collaborative problem-solving in cross-functional teams

  • Ability to lead technical discussions and facilitate decision-making

Location: Onsite at Hanscom AFB, MA
