Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Acquisition Logistics Manager supporting the Mobility Directorate , located at Wright Patterson AFB, OH.  The Mobility Directorate at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is part of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC). Its mission is to develop, produce, and sustain mobility aircraft to meet the needs of the Air Force and its partners.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

 

Daily Operations

  • Systems Support Strategy: Plan, develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive support strategy.
  • Document Review: Produce and review acquisition and sustainment logistics documents.
  • Program Phase Support: Assist during all program phases, including milestone activities.
  • Air Force Product Support: Apply knowledge of the Air Force’s 12 product support elements.

Life Cycle Management

  • Life Cycle Logistics Support: Plan, manage, and coordinate cradle-to-grave logistics for weapon systems.
  • Integration: Combine supply, maintenance, procurement, and quality assurance into logistics activities.
  • Document Review: Review program documents and assess impacts of external actions and conflicting priorities.

Logistics Policy and Guidance

  • Logistics Policy Knowledge: Understand logistics policies, including Title 10 USC Section 2466 and NDAA amendments.
  • ILS Planning: Knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) theories and principles for program coordination.
  • System Life Cycle: Understand system life cycle concepts for research, development, and acquisition.
  • Logistics Objectives: Develop and analyze data to determine logistics objectives and goals.

Logistics and Maintainability Support

  • Logistics & Maintainability Programs: Knowledge of product support RAM-C program test and evaluation, and weapon systems logistics requirements.
  • Program Development: Assist in developing logistics support and maintainability programs and systems acquisition requirements analysis.
  • Documentation: Develop, modify, prepare, or validate documentation for automated logistics/maintenance data reporting systems and management information systems.

Integrated Logistics Support

  • ILS Management: Assist in managing, monitoring, evaluating, and coordinating Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) implementation.
  • Acquisition Project Support: Manage and monitor acquisition projects throughout their execution.
  • Task Coordination: Coordinate and integrate taskings from different functional organizations.
  • Program Evaluation: Continuously evaluate the status and effectiveness of program support.

 

 

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

 

Minimum Required Qualifications:

 

Clearance: Secret

Education/Years of Experience:

 

  • Advanced Degree (Master of Arts (MA) / Master of Science (MS)) and twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five (5) years of which must be in the DoD.
  • OR, BA/BS degree, and fifteen (15) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) of which must be in the DoD.
  • OR, twenty (20) years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the Functionally Aligned Job Descriptions, eight (8) of which must be in the DoD.

 

Technical Skills

  • Ability to evaluate logistics processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of lifecycle sustainment planning to support systems from development through disposal .
  • Strong skills in analyzing logistics data to drive decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
  • Ability to plan, execute, and oversee logistics projects, ensuring they meet deadlines and budget constraints.

 

Interpersonal Skills

  • Collaboration Across Functions Builds strong working relationships with acquisition, engineering, cybersecurity, and contractor teams to ensure seamless integration of security requirements.
  • Clear and Diplomatic Communication Translates complex security policies and procedures into actionable guidance for both technical and non-technical audiences without creating friction.
  • Discretion and Trustworthiness Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with the utmost integrity—crucial when working with classified programs and senior stakeholders.
  • Influence and Conflict Resolution Navigates competing priorities and resolves disagreements while advocating for security best practices in a balanced, persuasive manner.
