This position supports the Air Force’s Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) Acquisition Node (AN) within the C3BM portfolio. The environment is dynamic and continuously evolving, requiring a high-energy individual with strong initiative, excellent interpersonal skills, and the versatility to thrive in ambiguity. You will work directly with government, industry, and internal stakeholders to define problems, shape solutions, and deliver capabilities aligned with ABMS objectives.

Responsibilities

In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and/or professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Lead and support the development of system/subsystem requirements and translate them into architectural solutions for complex IC and DoD environments.

  • Serve as a senior advisor on engineering and acquisition activities, including the preparation of acquisition documentation and system architecture artifacts.

  • Mentor junior systems engineers and guide them in best practices for documentation and requirements analysis.

  • Engage directly with industry partners to define, assess, and iterate on technical solutions—serving as a trusted interface between government and external teams.

  • Analyze project feasibility and contribute to technical evaluations of RFP responses.

  • Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies; apply sound judgment in ambiguous or fast-evolving program conditions.

  • Develop and deliver technical presentations to senior leadership.

  • Adapt to shifting priorities and responsibilities as the contract matures, maintaining a proactive approach to identifying what needs to be done without waiting for direction.
