Position Summary

Power your purpose. Support the Future of Air Force Command and Control as part of the Department of the Air Force Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communications and Battle Management (DAF PEO C3BM).

 

Odyssey systems seeks a proactive, detail-driven User Interface Developer to join a small and elite team that will help the DAF PEO C3BM develop its Battlefront Analysis tool that will analyze resources to direct American airpower around the world. First you will tap into and become familiar with advanced Python-driven UI engines to power dynamic analytics dashboards and multi-dimensional programmatic views. Once you learn the system, you will lead the charge to evolve those capabilities into a sleek Blazor front end that will help Active Duty Airmen track the status of classified programs.

 

This position requires on-site work in a classified facility where you will build responsive, high-impact interfaces that make every interaction both seamless and strategic. You will make it easy for users to transform raw data into actionable financial and program management intelligence, and your success will give the Air Force necessary insight to effectively invest hundreds of millions of dollars into cutting-edge IT capabilities across dozens of programs that shape American defense.

 

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to: 

  • Advise, assistant on the maintenance of existing Python-based User Interface (UI) modules that drive analytic dashboards and programmatic views.
  • Assist in the requirements to design, develop, and integrate components in .NET to replicate and enhance current analytics displays.
  • Review and analyze system concepts and user requirements that have been approved and entered a system requirements baseline (functional, allocated, and product)
  • Supports implementation and execution of software development and integration on in concert with Government and prime contractors
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and Python Developer to understand customer requirements and translate their needs into reality with a seamless front-end/back-end API integration.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility, adherence to accessibility standards, and compliance with classified-environment best practices.
  • Assist in the implementation and oversight of a periodic data ingestion process by ensuring that updated, usable data is efficiently incorporated into the tool.
  • Participate in user testing by gathering feedback and iterating on UI/UX designs to improve overall usability. Determine deficiencies, develop alternatives, recommend solutions, and support development of a plan to implement the chosen solution
  • Prepare technical documents which define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics. Prepares management reports and conducts technical presentations for planning, implementation and corrective action using application of engineering economy principles 
  • Perform validation of systems, including development of criteria and procedures. Analyze and/or evaluate results of major engineering systems 
  • Provide system/program engineering, technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives, including but not limited to: acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight
  • Support engineering technical and technical management processes associated with version/configuration control,
  • Advise to front-end architecture decisions, maintain shared UI component libraries, and document code, processes, and design rationales.
  • Assist with the creation of user guides and brief training courses for users

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

ClearanceMust have and be able to maintain a Top Secret level clearance and have current SCI access

Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional front-end/UI development experience

 

  • 5+ years of experience developing front-end tools or user-facing interfaces using Python.
  • Hands-on experience with Python-based web frameworks like Flask, Dash, or Plotly Dashboards for interactive visualizations.
  • Experience with API integration, RESTful services, and dynamic data rendering.
  • Proficiency with Git, CI/CD workflows, and version control best practices.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field

 

  • Familiarity with user-centered design principles, wireframing, and responsive layouts.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices in classified environments.
  • Prior experience in a DoD or intelligence community SCIF, including working knowledge of air-gapped security constraints.
  • Experience with Agile methods and Continuous Integration/Continuous Development, Development, Security and Operations (DevSecOps) and Development and Operations (DevOps) preferred
  • Understanding and experience with Agile software development best practices specifically Scaled Agile Framework, DevOps and Agile sprint planning
  • Ability to guide development efforts in the effective use of standards to achieve mission capabilities with Agile standards, as applicable 
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills

 

  • Additional Skills Requested:
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern UI implementation patterns.
  • Experience with C# and the Blazor framework, including:
  • Building Razor components and integrating them with back-end APIs.
  • Applying JavaScript Interop (JSInterop) for complex dynamic behavior.
  • Understanding of Blazor Server vs. Blazor Web Assembly trade-offs in secure environments.
  • familiarity with MudBlazor, a UI component library for Blazor used to accelerate interface development with prebuilt responsive components.
  • Ability to replicate and enhance Python-based dashboard functionality using .NET-based UI frameworks.

 

 

 

Additional Information

Location: Hanscom Air Force Base, Bedford, MA

Travel: 0-10% per customer's discretion

This is an on-site position and is 5 days a week on-base.
