Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Systems Interoperability and Integration Engineer SME to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Aerial Networks Division (AFLCMC/HNA). This role focuses on enabling secure, standards-based interoperability and integration of Command, Control, Communications (C3), Information Technology (IT), and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems across manned and unmanned weapon systems throughout their lifecycle.
This is a full-time, onsite position located at Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA.
In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and/or professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Provide technical expertise in requirements development, cybersecurity implementation, system protection, E3 analysis, spectrum management, and interoperability testing for networked systems.
Conduct integration engineering analysis for embedded communications systems in weapon platforms, including unmanned and manned aircraft.
Support planning, analysis, design, testing, and verification of systems to ensure performance and compatibility across legacy and emerging systems, including 4th, 5th, and 6th generation platforms.
Perform C3/ISR system-of-systems integration and machine-to-machine data exchange evaluations.
Analyze and support:
Architecture development (DoDAF/SysML)
COMSEC management and certification
Encryption technologies and NSA certification
E3 and spectrum certification
Cybersecurity and Information Assurance (IA) accreditation
CPI protection and interface compatibility
Develop technical documentation, acquisition strategies, modernization plans, and test methodologies in support of system integration across multi-domain operations.
Serve as SME in secure interoperability with land, sea, air, and space platforms, and ensure compatibility with strategic, theater, and tactical operations.
Utilize Sparx and/or MagicDraw for development of DoDAF 2.0/SysML architecture products.
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret clearance
Education: Master’s degree in Engineering
Years of Experience: 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years supporting DoD programs
Preferred Qualifications
Technical Skills
Deep knowledge of C3, IT, and ISR system-of-systems integration
Experience with spectrum management, E3 testing, and NSA certification processes
Familiarity with secure communications, COMSEC, encryption, and IA requirements
Proficiency in Sparx or MagicDraw for DoDAF 2.0 and SysML architecture product development
Understanding of legacy and next-generation (4th–6th gen) system interoperability
Interpersonal Skills
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Proven ability to work across cross-functional teams and technical stakeholders
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers on interoperability and integration standards
