Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity providing Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) supporting the US Space Force and its mission to Protect and Defend National Security Interests in Space as a member of the Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC) Front Office (FO) team. As the SWAC Deputy Director’s Executive and Director’s Action Group (DAG) Specialist, you will provide on-site support to SWAC leadership and staff.  You will receive direction from SWAC leadership, provide support services to the Deputy Director, and serve as a strategic advisor to optimize day-to-day operation of the SWAC.

 

This is a full-time position at the Aerospace facility at 7250 Getting Heights, Colorado Springs, CO.

Responsibilities

An A&AS contractor is a knowledgeable and trusted advisor to the Government. As the SWAC Deputy Director’s Executive and DAG Specialist, you will take direction from the SWAC Deputy Director and support the SWAC DAG team optimizing the day-to-day operation of the SWAC. This individual applies significant influence within the Center; supports the Deputy Director in execution of responsibilities; provides expert, comprehensive knowledge of SWAC responsibilities, priorities, and projects; develops and evangelizes daily business practices; and helps manage, guide and direct the Director’s staff to maximize its effectiveness. Duties include, but are not limited to:  

  • Record, track, and work Action Items part of the Deputy Director’s responsibilities
  • Develop briefings, bullet background papers, and other correspondence and create staff packages for SWAC leadership’s coordination and approval
  • Manage SWAC Deputy Director’s dynamic daily calendar and travel schedule, interfacing with senior officers/executives from multiple military commands and intelligence agencies, and facilitating communication between SWAC senior executives and staff
  • Schedule meetings/events to maximize the Deputy Director’s and senior leaders’ time. Identify meeting participants, subject matter experts (SMEs) and required materials to thoroughly address the issue, produce solutions, direct further study, or re-vector the effort
  • Ensure the Deputy Director is prepared for each event on their schedule, to include scheduling preparation time, providing read-ahead materials, biographies of participants, subject matter experts, and arranging advanced meetings, as required
  • Support the SWAC DAG in analyzing incoming taskings with a critical mindset to determine the appropriate product and information required for response
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the Space, IC, and stakeholder communities and understand their organizational goals/objectives, parochial views and their impact to SWAC
  • Perform broad duties such as screening/filtering phone calls; setting up VTCs, receiving/escorting visitors; scheduling conference rooms; writing meeting minutes; making copies; and managing records management  
  • Assist security personnel with security clearance verification, building access, data transfers, processing visit requests, etc., as required
  • Arrange travel plans for SWAC Deputy Director using the Defense Travel System (DTS), to book flights, lodging, and ground transportation to meet mission reqts
  • Infrequent travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations at the request of the Government

Other duties as required/requested by the Government within the constraints of the S3 contract 

 

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

 

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Clearance:  Active Top Secret/SCI clearance, agreeable to polygraph

Education:  Bachelor's degree

Years of Experience:  10 years of experience in a Director’s Action Group or similar role supporting Senior Executives in classified environments

Other Qualifications:

  • Exceptional professionalism and strong experience exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills via phone, email and in-person
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and build effective relationships and teams with government customers, FFRDCs, and contractors, working in a highly dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional writing skills and ability to effectively communicate with senior government leaders
  • Proficient with security processes/procedures (e.g., document marking/handling, generating and transmitting classified visit requests) in TS/SCI and SAP environments
  • Capable of opening/closing SWAC office spaces
  • Strong experience with office management procedures, equipment and information management systems such as on-line calendars, Task Management Tool (TMT), security clearance visit request information systems, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Experience with working in special access program and special access required environments 

Preferred Qualifications:

Clearance:  Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph

Education:  Master's degree

Other Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as an A&AS contractor in a DoD, MDA, or IC Acquisition organization

Travel: Up to 10% to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon Government direction
