Odyssey is seeking a Pre-Clinical Research Assistant to support our Blast Induced Neurotrauma (BINT) work at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR). The contractor will engage in preclinical laboratory research, encompassing all aspects of original scientific research. This includes assessing behavior, pathophysiology, molecular mechanisms, and laboratory maintenance. The role involves integrating existing scientific literature, applying appropriate research methods, data collection, data management, and statistical data analysis.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen or Green Card Holder (in the U.S. for 3 out of last 5 years)
Minimum Required Qualifications
Clearance: Ability to Obtain NACI
Education: B.S. in Neuroscience, Biology or related field
Years of Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in pre-clinical laboratory research. Must be able to work with small animals.
Certifications: N/A
Preferred Qualifications
Clearance: NACI
Education: M.S. in Neuroscience, Biology or related field
Years of experience: 3-5 years of experiencein pre-clinical laboratory research. Experience with animal handling, aseptic procedures, surgical techniques. Proficiency with data collecton, management and statistical analysis. Experience with developing research proposals and navigating research protocol approval process.
