Position Summary

Odyssey Systems is looking for an Executive Director, Operation for Cyber, Communications and Network (CCN) Programs. This role will lead the growth and success of Odyssey’s CCN programs within the C5ISR Business Unit. This individual will execute the portfolio of programs in accordance with company and customer objectives. The Executive Director will have overall operations management, supervisory, administrative, and financial (P&L) responsibility of the portfolio. The position will lead Odyssey Operations Directors, Program Managers, and other management and staff to ensure high-quality operational performance standards, facilitate growth, and achieve new business goals. The position will develop, implement, and manage programs, strategies, processes, and tools to manage existing customer relationships and will play a leadership role in helping to integrate the Business Development and Operations teams to increase revenue across new customer relationships. This role is located in Lincoln, MA. The role will require travel to visit with customers, partners, collaborate with Odyssey leadership and attend industry events. This is a rewarding executive level position focused on a critical company priority.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to: 

  • Provide strategic direction for the company’s operational groups by establishing repeatable, structured, and consistent processes in accordance with overarching company processes to drive customer engagement, execute program efficiencies, and propel business growth.
  • Facilitate operational strategic planning to ensure business and customer objectives are achieved.
  • Promote integration across Odyssey departments to maximize operational efficiencies.
  • Manage Group operational resources to meet operational objectives and manage budgets to achieve Revenue and Net Income goals.
  • Plan and execute projects and customer engagements to achieve customer objectives, milestones, and benchmarks.
    • Contract Execution
      • Identify task requirements, interdependencies, and key resources for project success.
      • Manage subordinate Operations Directors and Program Managers as appropriate to achieve program milestones.
      • Continuously measure task performance and report progress, issues, problems, and variances from benchmarks.
      • Ensure team performance consistently meets or exceeds established customer satisfaction benchmarks.
      • Develop and foster solid customer relationships by providing honest value and communicating effectively with the customer to anticipate, identify and eliminate project deficiencies or issues.
      • Communicate and meet frequently with the customer(s) to anticipate emerging requirements and develop effective support solutions.
      • Partner with Talent Acquisition to attract, recruit, and retain team members who meet or exceed our high standards.
    • Financial Management
      • Plan and budget for all resources required to develop, expand, and maintain the customer relationship.
      • Plan and budget for all resources required to develop, motivate, and reward team members and business unit staff to achieve employee retention goals.
      • Track costs and compare to established budgets on a monthly basis, conducting variance analyses as required.
    • Employee Relations
      • Provide guidance and feedback concerning employee development needs and advocate and budget to meet those needs.
      • Develop and document personal and professional development goals that support project and organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with other Executive Directors, and Business Development, to promote company growth by helping influence Business Development strategies.
    • Identify business opportunity pursuits and establish strategies that will generate new revenue streams.
    • Develop and document customer profiles.
    • Champion Operations involvement/leadership in Capture and Proposal Development activities. Help coordinate Odyssey corporate resources in the production and delivery of IDIQ/contract/task order proposals.
    • Develop pricing structures and strategies (Price to Win) to ensure that program pursuits obtain company gross profit objectives.
  • Facilitate company communications.
    • Communicate and visit with team members concerning program status, performance, corporate policies and initiatives, corporate news and other project, site, and corporate developments.
    • Communicate regularly with the executive team about program status, customer status, anticipated resource requirements, and business opportunities.

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Secret Clearance

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or relevant discipline

Years of Experience: At least 15 years of experience in DoD contracting, project/program management or directly related experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree in business or another relevant field

 

Technical Skills

  • Previous senior management experience in the delivery of technical and management services (Program Management and Operations execution)
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful contract execution
  • In depth knowledge of the intricacies of DoD contract project management, and contract execution
  • Ability to react quickly in a rapidly changing environment, motivate and manage teams and supporting staff
  • Ability to assess and develop strategic plans and energize others to achieve related goals

Interpersonal Skills

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to speak at all levels of the organization, as well as external customers and stakeholders
  • Experience leading large portfolios of 300+ people
  • Ability to work effectively with a broad range of people with a wide variety of technical skills and experience
  • Strong organizational skills

Location: Onsite at our Lincoln MA

Travel: Up to 25% travel
