Odyssey Systems is currently looking for a Research Technician II to join a dynamic and growing team at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) Wound Infection Department (WID). WID is tasked with delivering specific, effective countermeasures for infection of combat wounds pre-injury, point-of-injury, and post-injury. The Bacteriophage Therapeutics (BT) group focuses on the developent of Bacteriophage countermeasures against Multidrug Resistant (MDR) microbial pathogens of military relevance. Duties include identifying and characterizing Bacteriophage against specific ESKAPEE pathogens using various molecular, immunological and biochemical techniques.
Perform research on phage therapeutics for microbial pathogens of military relevance and animal testing.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen or Green Card holder and lived in the U.S. three out of the last five years.
Clearance: Ability to obtain NACI
Education: BS in biology or related field
Years’ experience: At least three (3) years previous experience as a laboratory technologist versed in bacteriological techniques and the basic principles of sterile microbiological and tissue culture techniques. Must have experience in a BSL-2 environment.

Clearance: NACI
Education: BS in biology or related field
Years of experience: Two years of laboratory experience with bacteriophage assays and methodologies is preferred. Must be willing to learn small animal model work
