Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity providing Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) supporting the US Space Force mission to defend National Security Interests in Space as an SDA Cyber Security Specialist supporting the Cross-Mission Systems Branch of the US Space Force Space Systems Command Cross-Mission Data & Communications Division (SSC/BCCD) executes system acquisition, modernization, and sustainment for ground- and space-based Space Domain Awareness (SDA) sensors and command and control (C2) systems. Activities include acquisition program management, system and subsystem engineering, maintenance and supply support, and fielding.

SDA is foundational to Protecting and Defending US Space Systems that provide space-based Intelligence, Early Warning, Communications and Global Positioning services that sustain our way of life, support our national economy, and act as force multipliers in times of conflict. Odyssey Systems provides support to the Government in five areas: Product Support, Sustainment Engineering & Sustainment Management, Technical Order Management, Technical User Interface, and System Design, Engineering, and Integration.  These tasks are executed laterally with USSF SSC/SZG depot and development contractors and with SDA stakeholders.

This is a full-time position supporting the Space Systems Command Cross-Mission Data & Communications Division at the Naval Support facility in Dahlgren, VA with the opportunity to telework 1-2 days per week at the discretion of the Government after an initial 30 days on site.

Responsibilities

An A&AS contractor is a knowledgeable and trusted advisor to the Government Program Office. As an SDA Cyber Security Specialist, you will perform a wide range of tasks, research, studies, and analysis. You will also support coordination and execution of information assurance planning and implementation.  Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the development and modifications of Information Assurance documentation to support and maintain system’s Authority to Operate (ATO) certifications in accordance with applicable Risk Management Framework (RMF) Standards
  • Attend and actively support requirements development and planning meetings with IT staff, Program Managers, and Division leadership as required
  • Ensure uninterrupted delivery of information technology systems
  • Maintain and support current and ongoing Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages
  • Implement and support cybersecurity standards to include NIST and Risk Management Framework (RMF) C&A Standards
  • Work with systems owners, government managers, and other stakeholders to manage cybersecurity requirements
  • Provide general support and assistance including preparing security paperwork, performing access control and supporting unit and self-inspections
  • Perform regular systems security scans, and maintaining records of such scans, as required by C&A guidelines
  • Respond to Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) as necessary to address systems vulnerabilities
  • Review systems security utilization logs per cybersecurity standards
  • Review and evaluating information technology software, hardware and networks and the overall cybersecurity posture of information technology systems
  • Recommend security improvements based on advances in industry or response to threat intelligence
  • Occaisional travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon Government direction
  • Other duties as required/requeted by the Government and within the scope of the S3 contract

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Citizenship:  Must be a US citizen

Clearance:  Active TS/SCI clearance, agreeable to polygraph

Education:  Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Electrical Engineering (RF), or a related discipline

Years of Experience:  4 years of relavent experience in Information Assurance and Information Systems Security

Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 (Security+ CE or equivalent) or Level 3 (CASP, CISSP, or equivalent)

Other Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of the testing discipline and comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures, and practices
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel and industry partners
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) and Xacta tools
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Clearance:  Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with current polygraph

Years of Experience:  8 years of relavent experience in Information Assurance and Information Systems Security

 

Additional Information:

Location:  Work is performed on site at the Naval Support facility in Dahlgren, VA

Travel:  Occaisional (5% to 10%) to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon Government direction

Onsite:  Onsite with the opportunity to telework 1-2 days per week at the discretion of the Government after an initial 30 days on site
