Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity providing Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) support to the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, Acquisition Delta - Space Domain Awareness (SDA), SSC/SZG as the Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Acquisition Delta Directors Action Group (DAG) Lead, at 2424 Garden of the Gods Road and Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO.

 

As the SDA Acquisition Delta DAG Lead, you will provide support to the Acquisition Delta - SDA (USSF SSC/SZG) across a portfolio of Sensor, Exploitation, and Dissemination systems, and is a liaison between the Delta and external agencies in the SDA enterprise, including SSC, HQ USSF, SAF/SQS, Joint Staff, operational units, the intelligence community, and industry.  The SZG DAG works directly with the general officer Program Executive Officer (PEO) Action Group and staff to respond to, and coordinate tasks, requests for information, meetings, visits, briefings, and other program management activities.

 

SSC/SZG executes system acquisition, modernization, and sustainment for ground- and space-based SDA sensors and command and control (C2) systems. Activities include acquisition program management, system and subsystem engineering, maintenance and supply support, and fielding.  

 

Odyssey Systems provides sustainment support to the Government in five areas: Product Support, Sustainment Engineering & Sustainment Management, Technical Order Management, Technical User Interface, and System Design, Engineering, and Integration.  These tasks are executed laterally with SSC/SZG depot and development contractors and with SDA stakeholders.

 

This is a full-time opportunity at Peterson SFB in Colorado Springs, CO with 1-2 days of authorized telework for local candidates - subject to change per the government's discretion.

Responsibilities

An A&AS contractor is a knowledgeable and trusted adviser to the Government.  As the SDA Acquisition Delta DAG Lead, you will collaborate within the Delta to respond to requests for information (RFIs) consistent with the Delta Director’s vision for the SDA enterprise, and developing and staffing packages to communicate the objectives, achievements, and requirements to support the execution of the Delta’s programs.  The DAG position is challenging with a very high operational tempo.  Duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Receive, evaluate, distribute, and track the completion of tasks from external organizations; facilitate the development of responses that are consistent with organizational capabilities and priorities; ensure that proposed responses meet quality, accuracy, and format requirements; manage Directorate and higher headquarters task management systems and processes
  • Assist and guide the development of staff actions requiring coordination with external agencies. Provide expertise in Delta level and higher headquarters staffing processes
  • Prepare and/or assist Portfolio and Program Managers to develop focused and polished briefings, reports, bullet papers, and informational material to communicate the vision and status of the Delta’s organizational, portfolio, and programmatic vision, objectives, roadmaps, and initiatives
  • Develop/organize/setup Delta level briefings to include weekly staff meetings, financial and program reviews, execution reviews, and other meetings as needed
  • Support the Delta senior staff and program managers to organize team efforts, develop and recommend proposals for improvement and resolve integration issues
  • Support Branch Chiefs, Program Managers and action officers to communicate program issues or concerns, and to request and advocate for executive decisions, intervention, and support
  • Evaluate the relative levels of desirability and feasibility of alternative courses of action; recommend decision options with supporting implementation plans
  • Facilitate effective communication across the Delta’s senior staff; coordinate responses to requests for information that are timely, accurate, complete, and aligned with the Delta Director’s vision and organizational positions, plans, and initiatives
  • Proactively communicate across primary and external organizations to identify and implement critical solutions, mitigate, and resolve inter-organizational challenges during the definition and execution of acquisition programs
  • Provide assessment and evaluation of the program and individual project goals, objectives, strategies, and performance to ensure a sound basis for long-range acquisition program management processes and follow-on system life cycle support planning
  • Organize and facilitate Delta-level strategic planning and management forums
  • Coordinate, and support distinguished visitor events
  • Develop and execute trade studies and special projects that support the Delta’s organizational requirements; perform analyses to support the Director’s decisions
  • Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon government direction
  • Perform other duties as required/requested by the Government and within scope of the S3 contract

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Active Secret clearance, eligible for TS/SCI

Education: Bachelor's degree

Years of experience: 8 or more years of relevant experience supporting similar duties in DoD, Intelligence Community, or Missile Defense organizations OR,

  • Master's degree in a relevant field with 4 or more years of experience supporting similar duties in DoD, Intelligence Community, or Missile Defense organizations

Preferred Qualifications:

Clearance: Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance

Education: Master's degree in a relevant field 

Years’ experience: 8 or more years of experience supporting similar duties in DoD, Intelligence Community, or Missile Defense Agency organizations

  • 1 or more years of experience as an executive officer or staff director
  • 3 or more years as an action officer on a major command or higher organizational staff; experience apply Tongue and Quill in the preparation and coordination of staff packages

Additional experience: 

  • Experience and training in applying DoD acquisition policies in program management
  • Expert in Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiar with Microsoft Teams and Zoom collaboration tools

Additional Information:

Location: 2424 Garden of the Gods Road and Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO

Travel: Minimal travel up to 10% as requested by the Government

Hybrid: Hybrid, onsite most business days with up to 1-2 days of telework per week at the discretion of the Government
