Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE). Duties includes the coordination of security design on cloud resident system and service including requirements gathering, defining security roadmaps, creating security procedures, developing security policies and defining security controls in accordance/compliance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF). The ISSE will work towards gaining Assessment & Authorization (A&A) approvals for system designed to reside on cloud resident systems.

 

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to: 

  • Conducting security lifecycle and technical impact assessment including design requirements assessments, threat modeling, source code reviews and new technology impact assessment
  • Demonstrated experience in security systems engineering involving hardware and software operating system and application solutions
  • Demonstrated expertise with security features and/or vulnerability of various operating systems as defined by US Air Force, NSA, NIST & DISA and USCYBERCOM
  • Demonstrated experience with IA vulnerability testing
  • Understanding of System Engineering requirements, specifications, and processes
  • Demonstrated experience implementing DoD and Federal IA Assessment & Authorization (A&A) Processes, IA controls and developing and maintaining associated A&A documentation IAW Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Experience working with US Government contract proposals as an Information Assurance/ Security Engineering subject matter expert
  • Supporting security authorization activities and ensure compliance with RMF and development of security Plan of Actions and Milestone (POA&M) mitigations
  • Working knowledge of the military structure and system acquisition
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

ClearanceTop Secret (with a current investigation within the past 5 years) or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation; SCI/SAP/SAR eligible

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar field

Years’ experience: 8+ years of experience

Certifications: Must meet DoD 8750.01 IAM Level II or higher (Sec+, CISSP)

 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cloud security and cybersecurity solutions including engineering architecture, requirements, determination, development, and implementation
  • Strong knowledge of advanced cyber threats and adversary methodologies
  • Ability to develop new ideas and techniques that advance the state of the practice for cloud and cyber defensive operations
  • Demonstrated experience with security features and/or vulnerability of various DoD operating systems
  • Demonstrated experience implementing DoD and Federal Cybersecurity Assessment & Authorization (A&A) Processes, Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls and developing and maintaining associated A&A documentation
  • Experience working U.S. Government contract proposals
  • Work experience with Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Office products, Windows client OS’s and security, Network protocols and topologies, Routers, Firewalls, Gateways, and Unix-based operating systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a leadership-type role, ability to work independently with minimal supervision

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Master's Degree

Years’ experience: 10+ years of experience

 

Interpersonal Skills: 

  • Working knowledge of the military structure and system acquisition
  • Stron verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

 

Additional Information:

 

Location: Located onsite at Hanscom AFB with minimal ability for remote work

Travel: Frequent travel (within CONUS) up to 5-10 days per month
