Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Sr. Acquisition Logistician, supporting the KC-46 Division (AFLCMC/WKC), Wright Patterson AFB, OH.  AFLCMC/WKC directs the development, test, production, deployment, and sustainment of the KC-46 aircraft, support, and training systems.



Duties include, but not limited to: 


Logistics Management

  • Provide product assistance to the PM and Product Support Manager (PSM) for the execution of the PSM’s duties as the Total Life Cycle Systems Manager. Also provide assistance to the sustainment teams through data analysis, acquisition management, procurement, and other associated logistics data of critical assets, insurance spares, tooling, and related parts and material.  Provide assistance to the development and maintenance of Post Production Support Plans (PPSP), Post Production Transition Plans (PPTP), and Transition to Post Production (TPP) and shall develop and execute requirements in phased strategies for PPTP and TPP.  Apply knowledge and experience in acquisition logistics philosophy, policies, and procedures to Air Force systems, subsystems, and equipment procurement activities, post-award project/program management tasks, and acquisition programs throughout their life cycles. Knowledgeable in software development, sustainment, and depot avionics testing and repair. In addition, assist in planning, organizing, and managing critical aspects of the development, production, and/or deployment of capabilities utilizing DoD, USAF, and local logistics policies, procedures, and functionalities, and financial data requirements of acquisition logistics disciplines. Ensure that supply systems and procedures are followed per USAF guidance.
  • When applicable logisticians will furnish supply support on-site at Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG) at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ, while regeneration activities are ongoing. Any Contractor working at or assigned to AMARG shall conduct and assist in supply studies, data collection, parts verification, supportability analysis, and parts or maintenance reviews.
  • Coordinate all logistics elements including but not limited to spares, Support Equipment (SE), training, facilities, technical data, and provisioning to ensure all integrated logistics support requirements for the program are identified and tailored to the directorate's needs.  Assigned personnel shall perform as key participants in developing long term weapon system supportability approaches that further the Government’s acquisition strategy goals and objectives. Obtain needed logistics resources and participate in site surveys and program reviews. Perform analyses of sustainment or related Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues and recommend suitable replacements. Provide support to accomplish the generation and review of logistics support documentation that includes the following: Integrated Logistics Support Plans (ILSP), Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP), Technical Orders (TOs), technical manuals, electronic technical manuals, illustrated parts breakdowns, and work specifications to ensure the documentation meets Government logistics support requirements. Assist in integrated logistics support management team meetings, program management reviews, and other related meetings.  In addition, assist the Government in performing logistics support analyses in areas such as

  • Assist in accomplishing analyses, writing reports, recommending actions, or performing any related tasks that provide logisticians the capability to develop a product support strategy that builds around the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)/product support and sustainment elements and integrates the acquisition and sustainment phases of the weapon system throughout its life cycle, based on statutes and DoD-directed concepts such as evolutionary acquisition with a spiral development, PBL, and public-private partnering.  Provide support by applying logistics knowledge to perform various tasks related to the planning, development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive, affordable, and effective systems support strategy. Assist in recommending program strategy, to include logistics impacts and incorporating PBL and public-private partnering tenets where feasible; monitoring performance goals, parameters, and exit criteria; developing, advising, and assessing the performance of work done at the depot or Contractor locations and partnering agreements; assisting in the review of logistics support elements and other logistics related efforts.  Assist in addressing product support elements:
    • Sustaining/system engineering,
    • Design interface, Supply support,
    • Maintenance planning and management,
    • SE/Automatic Test Systems (ATS),
    • Facilities,
    • Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T),
    • Technical data management/TOs,
    • Manpower and personnel,
    • Training,
    • Computer resources, and
    • Protection of critical program information and anti-tamper provisions.
  • Assist by: supporting material efforts regarding damage scenarios, recovery, rebuild and depot maintenance, production shutdown, risk mitigation, part configurations, and production asset disposition; addressing/resolving DMSMS issues, research parts availability, establish AT parts supply priority, and resolve Mission Impaired Capability Awaiting Parts (MICAP) situation; and identifying and monitoring mission partner support and field assessment requirements.

  • Possess the advanced knowledge, experience, and recognized ability to be considered an expert in their technical/professional field, possess the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and journeyman personnel within the technical/professional discipline. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of their technical/professional discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures, and practices in their area of expertise. (Program Office, Enterprise and Staff Level Support interface).
  • Advanced Degree (Master of Arts (MA) / Master of Science (MS)) and twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) years of which must be in the DoD, OR
  • BA/BS degree, and fifteen (15) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) of which must be in the DoD, OR
  • Twenty (20) years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the Functionally Aligned Job Descriptions, eight (8) of which must be in the DoD.
  • Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree (Master of Arts (MA) / Master of Science (MS)) and twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) years of which must be in the DoD
